Installation

• Isolate the appliance from the mains, let it cool completely and drain the tank or boiler.
• Disconnect the terminals, noting the wiring, then unscrew the flange and withdraw the old element.
• Fit the new element with a new gasket or O-ring and tighten the flange evenly so it does not leak.
• Refit the thermostat and safety-thermostat bulbs in their sheath, reconnect exactly as the original wiring and refill before switching on — never power an immersion element dry.
• Installation should be carried out by a qualified catering-equipment technician.
