Before You Order – Voltage Check

400V version: connected across two phases (3-phase supply). Do NOT install on a 230V single-phase circuit – the plate will run at a fraction of its rated power. The same plate is also available in a 230V version – check the rating label before ordering.

Installation

• Isolate the appliance from the mains before removing the old plate.
• Connect the 4 screw clamps exactly as the original wiring, using heat-resistant cable.
• Controlled by a 7-position cam switch – replace a worn switch at the same time if the old plate failed from overheating.
• On first use, heat the plate at low setting for a few minutes to burn off the protective coating (light smoke is normal).
• Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or catering equipment technician.

Frequently Asked Questions

My old plate shows a different EGO number – will this fit?
Yes, if it is one of the numbers in the table above. They share the same 180mm diameter, 1500W, 400V, 4 screw-clamp connection and 8mm spill ring.

Why does my EGO number start with 12, 15 or 18?
EGO uses different prefixes for revisions and series of the same plate. All numbers in the table above share the same size, power and voltage and are interchangeable.

Can EKT install it?
Yes. EKT’s maintenance team services commercial kitchens across Qatar and can supply and fit the plate on site.
