EGO cast-iron solid electric hot plate, 145mm diameter, 1000W at 230V, with an 8mm chrome spill ring and 4 screw-clamp terminals. EGO 18.14453.002 is the current version and replaces the older EGO numbers 12.14453.002, 12.14453.022, 12.14453.194. Installation – Wiring Notes

• Isolate the appliance from the mains before removing the old plate.
• 7-position switch: connect the 4 screw clamps exactly as the original wiring.
• 4-position switch: bridge terminals 3 and 4.
• Energy regulator (simmerstat): bridge terminals 1 and 2, and terminals 3 and 4.
• On first use, heat the plate at a low setting for a few minutes to burn off the protective coating (light smoke is normal).
• Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or appliance technician.
